The Los Angeles Lakers were the favorites going into the Finals. No one saw this rout coming. The Miami Heat looked like no match for the Lakers. Combine their Game 1 showing with Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic being listed as doubtful for Game 2, this series could be over quick.
If we have learned anything about Miami during this postseason, it is that they have 0 quit in them. They are going to give it 110% until the final whistle.
They had a promising performance out of Kendrick Nunn, who might have a more important role if Dragic truly can't play tonight. The 3rd leader in rookie of the year votes may finally get his chance to prove the hype was real on a big stage.
The Lakers covered their -4.5 point spread in Game 1, while the under hit by 3 points (214/217). Because of the possible absences of Miami's core, the spread has more than doubled (-9.5) ! I'm not sure the last time an NBA Finals game has had a spread this large.
The total is set at about the same number (216.5), most likely accounting for a boost in the Lakers offense and a falter in Miami's.
Hopefully Miami can make this a competitive series. Only time will tell.
